Getting Here
By Air : The International Airport at Montpellier is 30 min drive form Agde. Other nearby airports are Carcassonne, Perpignan, Nimes and Beziers. Slightly further away are Girona and Barcelona airports in Spain - Low fare flights operate to most of the airports. The nearest airport is Beziers-Cap d'Agde, only 15 minutes away with flights from London Luton and Stanstead, Manchester, Bristol, Edinburgh, Shannon, Stockholm, Dusseldorf, Paris and Brussels. It is only 1 euro 60 cents for a single bus journey from Beziers airport to Agde train station.
By Train : Agde station is on the main TGV line between Barcelona and Paris, just under 4 hours from Paris and has a direct connection to Barcelona in just over 2.5 hours. It is possible to travel directly from London and Brussels via train and has direct services to most of the local airport towns and cities as well as places such as Marseille, Bordeaux, Avignon, Toulouse and Lyon . Our apartment is a 5 minute walk over the bridge to the train station.
By Road : It is under 10kms from junction 34 of the A9, the major autoroute connecting the south of France to Spain. In normal traffic conditions less than a 15 minute drive. However, in the peak summer months from mid-July to the end of August, the population increases with holidaymakers and the roads and parking can be very busy, especially on a Saturday.
Free parking is available on both sides of the river and nearby in the town centre.
However, you do not need a car, we are only 5 minutes walk from the train station, it is a 15 minutes cycle ride to the beach or you can catch one of the regular bus services to the supermarkets or nearby beaches and resorts.
